Does anyone out there know anything at all about SLIP, the Serial Line Internet Protocol? I'm looking for information on how to set it up between two unix machines... What do I need to do to get it going? How do I do it? Any pointers to useful references are appreciated. --Michael Ginsberg

RFC 1055, "A NONSTANDARD FOR TRANSMISSION OF IP DATAGRAMS OVER SERIAL
LINES: SLIP", by John Romkey is a good reference for what it is.
Hard to say more without knowing which machines this is for, the
answer for bsd is different from sunos is different from sysv.
