I'm trying to track down specifics on what I'm told is a database which is being built containing data on aging (i.e., income, resources, health, etc.) from numerous countries around the world. I've had leads at the U.S. Census Bureau, Vanderbilt University, and Michigan (or maybe Michigan State). Something's been said about a Consortium of universities and/or other organizations (possibly government agencies) to set up and manage this database. The idea, I'm told, is to maintain both statistical and narrative information related to aging, so that, for example, changes in income can be correlated with legislative changes in social security or other income support programs. Sorry to be so vague. :-) Does anyone have more specifics, including contact people on this? More importantly, is this database to be an Internet resource? If so, where? Etc? Etc?
