Some time ago (around 1977-78 timeframe, I think), Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes released a radio station only lp on Epic of a live concert at the Bottom Line in NYC. The concert was sponsored by WNEW-FM, NYC (who else?!) and featured a number of things that Southside always did in concert but never made it to any production releases... My problem is that the one copy I knew of (at a small radio station on the Jersey shore) has vanished (with some help, I imagine), and I was wondering if anyone knew of a copy in existance that I could {beg|borrow|steal|buy}. Responses via mail appreciated! Any general interest in SOAP (sound of Asbury Park) around? I grew up in south central Jersey, and there was a lot of excellent music around until about 1979 or so... For the unknowing, aside from SJ&AJ, the only other fairly well known act to come out of AP is some guy called Bruce Springsteen... however, no matter how you feel about Bruce, there were quite a few respectable groups in the area.... I'd be interested in seeing if people are aware of the SOAP scene... Mike BTL Whippany NJ ...harpo!zeppo!mes
