That's easy. I'm at one of those sites that charges you for sending AND
receiving email. At my site this amounts to DM 0,40 per KByte. Thus, if I
should receive a lot of email responses to an article of mine, it could get
quite expensive. By the way, my site is not an university or somesuch, but a
group of students running a computer they have payed for with their own money,
so it's quite natural that they want to share the running costs.

However, I'm posting this because I know that a lot of other NetUsers share
the same situation and I want to point out that not *everybody* can use the
nets for free.
