Several approaches.

1: Consult the Inter-Network Mail Guide by John Chew
<poslfit@gpu.utcs.utoronto.ca>. It is posted periodically
to several newsgroups, including news.newusers.questions.

2: Consult the table on page 940 of Communications of the ACM,
October 1986 (Volume 29, Number 10).

3: Consult the following book:

The Matrix: Computer Networks and Conferencing Systems Worldwide,
John S. Quarterman, Digital Press, Bedford, MA, 719pp, 1990. List price $50.

The information in [1] and [2], and ordering information for [3] may be
obtained by typing this at your well-connected UNIX-like machine:

echo send gateway | mail -s Command raymond@math.berkeley.edu
