[comp.misc] Voice response system info wanted

 I'm not sure where this question belongs, so bear with me if this
isn't the best place (although pointers to a better place would be
appreciated). A friend of mine works at a company that has an IBM
voice response system that allows users to dial in over a touch-tone
phone and get information about things like their account balance,
last transaction etc. This company isn't happy with the system they
currently have, but aren't sure how to research other vendors. "I
know," I said, "Let's ask the net - they know everything!" So,
answers, pointers, humorous anecdotes all gratefully received.

1) Who makes these systems?

2) Is there an industry organization? A trade rag?

3) What kind do you have? Do you like it?

4) Where to go for more info?

Many vendors are active in this area.

It's roughly a part of telecommunications.  You might find something in
Comm Week.

We have a system from CCS distributed by EPOS Corp.
They are highly recommended and have provided excellent support and service.

Disclaimer:  I am only a satisfied customer...but unless that damn salesman
buys me a lunch sometime, I'm going to stop praising his system :-)
