I'm looking at frame grabbers for our VME-based Suns. Our
application is real-time vision for a variety of robot systems.
Our greatest need is to get full-color images from video
cameras at full frame rate (30 frames/sec) and be able to
access them from a Unix program (probably through memory
mapping). Currently, we can get images from mapped memory
at 15 frames/sec. I expect that full frame rate would require
double-buffering with two frame buffers. Other attractive
features would be:
* Overlay planes
* Simple on-board processing
* Occupies few slots
We have looked at Matrox's MVP board. Has anyone had any
experience with this board? What other boards can do what
we want?
Thanks!
Bill Ross
