Could someone suggest to me places to get information about the universal product codes that are now ubiquitous (in north america, at least)? A friend of mine wants to know enough technical details (e.g. how wide the various bands are supposed to be) to be able to read the UPC on packages, and perhaps even to output UPCs on a laser printer (given price, etc.). (He runs a small business, and is very hardware knowledgable). Email, please -- if there is sufficient interest, I'll post to the net.
