A query was raised (as it is periodically) about the health risks associated with proximity to CRT units (particularly radiation and vision realted). Rather than giving vague assurances about distance from the terminal (radiation) and period breaks (visual), our sys_admin would like some citable sources to affirm to those affected and their superiors that there are/aren't discernable risks in their workspace. Like most, we see articles in various publications and (invariably) fail to note the sources cited or save the article. Then when the subject comes up, we're caught with "Well, I read in {insert publication name...} a while back that blah blah blah..." and wind up sounding something less than credible. We would like any references regarding the following (as specifically as possible): Radiation levels on ADDS Viewpoint 60+, ADDS 2020, ADDS 2025, Prime PT200 (color and green mono), Prime PST100 (black/white), Espirit 6110+ Radiation levels on CRTs and pregnancy Effects on vision and any advantages of different colors (amber, green, white, color) and contrast levels Any references to EPA/OSHA studies Hopefully by putting all available evidence at the disposal of those who ask the questions, we might head them off (and make them better informed about what they do).
