[comp.misc] Alpha Micro

cca@cs.exeter.ac.uk (Clive Carmock) (06/08/90)

Since my earlier posting I have managed to gather more info. I now know
that Alpha Microsystems are in Irvine CA, USA. Does anyone know of an
e-mail address, or have their UK address??

Earlier I quoted the machine number as AM100, but now know it to be an
Alpha 1041 micro. I would greatly appreciate any advice on realistic
second hand prices for this working but aged (1981) machine. - I'm being
offered one, not selling :-)

Thanks

Does anyone know if there is an email address for Alpha Microsystems,
of Irvine Ca, USA??

Any help appreciated.

P.S. Any UK readers know of a site with either a VT100 driver for the
AMOS (not AMOS/L) and a stremer drive, or of a site with VCR and streamer?

I have several questions regarding the Alpha Micro operating system
and don't know who to ask, if anyone has any knowledge of this operating
system please contact me via email or post.
Basically what I need to know is, is the only way to transfer ASCII
from a MSDOS machine over to the Alpha Micro through a 113 board and
cable? or is a new method available. I've heard something about a
program called PC Vision? that will do the same thing, but I'd like
to know how one would connect the PC to the AMOS machine?

Thanks

Gary
