[comp.misc] MS-DOS vs. VMS text files: difference?

davet@cbnewsj.att.com (Dave Tutelman) (03/11/91)

I need to know what to do to an MS-DOS text file so that it becomes a
valid VMS text file when uploaded (using XMODEM) to a VMS machine.

I've already ascertained that XMODEM seems to dislike the Ctl-Z that some
MS-DOS programs put at the end of text files. I don't know whether
VMS follows the UNIX convention of single LF for '\n', or the DOS convention
of CR-LF for '\n', or maybe something totally different. Any other
things I need to do?

Please Email responses, and I'll summaraize to the net.
