[comp.misc] Summary of responses to Question 1

tneff@bfmny0.BFM.COM (Tom Neff) (03/19/91)

I think we can all agree this deserves some kind of award! The First
Annual UNIX TODAY Memorial Asleep-At-The-Wheel Award for Brain Damaged
Postings!

---------------

This "Summary of responses" contained:

EVERY response, verbatim and complete from first byte to last.

Every mail header, including Received:.

Every meaningless daemon autoreply.

And of course, full replication of the 50% of responses containing
nothing but withering criticism of the ORIGINAL question article(s),
which held the former dumb-posting award until this came along.

---------------

Remember this the next time you are tempted to treat UNIX TODAY as some
kind of authority.

In the meantime, don't you think we should mail complete copies of the
March 18 posting back to the poster, for unabridged inclusion in the
next "summary"? :-)

Interesting. Who are these people that responded? I know lots of
people (including myself) that have sent in subscription forms for
UNIX Today numerous times and never received a copy. I assumed that
it only existed for distribution at Uniforum.

Is there really such a publication? Can someone post the secret
password to get on the mailing list? I admit that I am a UNIX
newcomer (only 11 years with UNIX), unknown by most (I am only part
owner is a UNIX publishing, training and consulting company since
1983) and don't really work much with UNIX (except for the three
systems I am responsible for at work, the one one at home and those
of our consulting customers) but it seems that I should at least
qualify to get a letter explaining why UNIX Today continues to ignore
me.
