[comp.misc] ZENO screen write speedup prg

nol2321@dsacg4.dsac.dla.mil (Jim Dunn) (04/18/91)

Greetings Netlanders,

I am looking for the latest copy (and source) of the ZENO screen
write speedup program. Also, if any of you have alternatives to
speeding up your BIOS and ANSI screen writes, I'd be interested.
Please e-mail/post them, and I'll summarize...

  Thanks!
Jim

I can't tell you where to get any of the files, but FANSI-CONSOLE is
also a pretty good screen write speeder. It also has dozens of other
functions, such as keyboard remapping, changing the bell length,
controling key delay and repeat rate, increase the keyboard buffer, and
just about anything else you can do with a screen or keyboard. It's
shareware from Hershey Microcomputing, Inc.

There are also NANSI and VANSI, which are really just different
versions of the same thing. They provide some screen speedup and
reduce filcker. NANSI is also shareware. I don't know about VANSI.

Hope this helps a little.
