A tech from Quantum returned my call this morning to tell me that their 105 meg drive can be installed in any orientation. Thanks to all who responded to my initial question. -- Ed Krimen ............................................... ||| Video Production Major, California State University, Chico ||| INTERNET: ekrimen@ecst.csuchico.edu FREENET: al661 / | \ SysOp, Fuji BBS: 916-894-1261 FIDONET: 1:119/4.0

Just a tip: after installing the drive in the required orientation, do a low-level format. Some (cheap?) drives will have a small alignment problem if the drive is mounted in another orientation than the one in which it was LL-formatted because of gravitational forces. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= : slootman@dri.nl : You are wise, witty and wonderful, but you : : ...!hp4nl!dri500!slootman : spend too much time reading this sort of trash. : =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
