Well, here I am again with another (stupid) question for the net. I just bought a Motorola UDS 212A Modem. So far, I have figured out enough to get online (I'm using it now.), but I have a few abbreviations to decypher. I know some of them, but I'll list them all so I can be sure. The LEDs on the front are marked MB, TR, MR, TD, RD, HS, MC, and TM. I have figured out Terminal Ready, Modem Ready, Transmitted Data, Received Data, High Speed, and Test Mode. The others are mysteries to me. Also, the switches are marked AL, ST, RL, DL, HS, and TLK. Other than High Speed, all of these are a mystery as to their definitions and functions. I have tried to contact Motorola for a manual, but I haven't been able to get past the secretary. If anyone can tell me what these things mean, I would really appreciate the email. I know the answers are simple, but I haven't worked with an external modem before, at least not with these abbreviations. I thank the net for your time, and for those reading this at 300 baud, sorry for the length. -David (david+@osu.edu)
