Has anyone had the following (or any other) problem using a Synoptics 2530 concentrator (lattice net)? The network config is: Novell network ---> Novell server w/internal bridge | | --> 2530 --> bridge --> backbone | Novel Server Work stations on the Novell network can connect to the Novell server with no problem. However, when going thorugh the internal bridge and trying to connect to a server on the backbone, the responce is so slow (packets get through) that it usually times out. If we replace the 2530 with another product everything works fine. Synoptics says the 2530 is good and that the problem is with our net. We have had other problems with 2530's and no problems with any other vendors equipment. Has anyone else had 2530 problems? We once had a bad batch from the factory, and were first told the problem was with another company's product that we were using (this of course was wrong). Synoptics claims there is a propogation delay problem. Doesn't the bridge avoid that? There certainly is no problem on the 2530 side of the bridge as the side is small in comparison -- and after all, other vendors equipment works. Appreciate any feedback on this -- even info on propogation delay and bridges. Also if there is a better place to post this I would appreciate that. Thanks in advance.
