KSC SPACE SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT FOR - Mon. Aug. 22, 1988

                     STS-26 - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - PAD 39-B

Friday, workers repaired the leak in the Orbital Manuevering
System (OMS) pod and the inital leak check showed no leakage. The
pressure in the reaction control system (RCS) nitrogen tetroxide
tank was monitored over the weekend with no decay noted.
Additional pressure monitoring of the RCS tank is planned for
later this week before confidence in the repair is achieved.

Discovery was powered down last night so that a few
electronic boxes could be removed and replaced. These boxes are
used to translate information from orbiter systems to the general
          purpose computers.

Operations scheduled this week at Pad 39-B are hazardous and
require a clear of the pad area. Tomorrow the Tracking and Data
Relay Satellite is scheduled to be serviced with hydrazine. The
hydrazine tank will be pressurized on Wednesday. Next the
orbiter's auxiliary power units and the solid rocket booster
hydraulic power units will be serviced with hydrazine. On Friday,
ordnance devices are scheduled to be installed on the Inertial
          Upper Stage.

The TDRS/IUS are scheduled to be installed into Discovery's
payload bay Monday and spacecraft to orbiter testing is planned
          for next week.

                     STS-27 - ATLANTIS (0V 104) - OPF BAY 2

Over the weekend gaseous nitrogen lines for the auxiliary
power units were installed. The orbiter's potty has been checked
out in preparation for flight. Operations scheduled for later
this week are preparations for installing the left hand OMS pod
and the third main engine. Thermal protection system activities
          are continuing.

                     STS-28 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - OPF BAY 1

Orbiter modifications planned this week include crew escape,
RTV heat sink and thermal protection system upgrades. In addition
workers are installing water lines around the crew hatch and
installing thermal blankets on the payload bay doors in
preparation for installation of the radiators.

                      STS-27 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - VAB/RPSF

The right aft center segment was lifted Saturday night over
the right aft booster and is being prepared for the mate. At the
RPSF, the right forward center segment is being inspected prior
to moving to the VAB for stack. Joint closeouts are underway on
          the left solid rocket motor.
