Here's a question that may be a stupid (or naive) question, but I've not seen it addressed here before, so I'll stick my neck out and ask it. From reading the daily status bulletins posted here (interesting stuff!) and even without having read it, it is pretty obvious that many tasks are being performed on several orbiters in parallel. I.e. several orbiters are being worked on at the same time. Now, do the work crews stay with a single task and rotate between orbiters as they perform their designated task, or do the work crews get assigned to a single orbiter and execute all the tasks for that orbiter before picking up a later flight? In other words, is shuttle preparation handled by the Henry Ford model of the production line, or the Rolls Royce model of the production crew? David B.
