Did something go wrong during the launch of STS26-Discovery, or did something nearly go wrong? When I watched the television pictures of the launch I could clearly see, somewhere around 40 seconds after lift-off, an orange flame, flickering around the edge of one of the booster's nozzel. This flame instantly reminded me of the flames between one booster and Challenger only seconds before the explosion. Now to the question: Was this normal, or were there perhaps a small crack in the nozzel that created the flame? Does anyone on NASA have a comment to this? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go, NASA go! Patrik Pettersson Chalmers Highschool of Technology Sweden
