            KSC SPACE SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT - TUESDAY, NOV. 15, 1988


                     STS-27  -  ATLANTIS (0V 104)  -  OPF BAY 2

               Launch Pad 39-B was cleared of all non-essential personnel
          to allow the start of operations to remove and replace the fuel
          isolation valve for the number two auxiliary power unit.
          Hydrazine will be drained from APU two's storage tank today in
          preparation for the valve changeout. The pad is scheduled to be
          cleared today and tomorrow for this operation.

               NASA and contractor shuttle managers are meeting here today
          for the Flight Readiness Review. They will discuss the readiness
          of the vehicle elements for the STS-27 launch. An official launch
          target date is expected after the meeting ends tomorrow.


                       STS-29 - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - OPF BAY 1

               Orbiter systems testing is continuing today. The forward
          reaction control system has been removed and will be transferred
          to the Hypergolic Maintenance Facility today. Technicians are
          reconfiguring the payload bay for the STS-29 mission.


                     STS-28  -  COLUMBIA (OV 102)  -  OPF BAY 2

               Activities are underway to power up the shuttle Columbia
          today to allow checkout of the electrical systems. Orbiter
          modifications are underway.


                      STS-29 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS  -  VAB/RPSF

               Technicians are inspecting the clevis on the right aft
          booster. The right aft center segment is being prepared for
          mating later this week.
