             KSC SPACE SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT - SUNDAY, NOV. 27, 1988


                      STS-27  -  ATLANTIS (0V 104)  -  PAD 39-B


               Today, technicians are busy at the pad finishing closing out
          the orbiter's aft compartment. All main engine work has been
          completed in the aft compartment. Remaining work includes
          installing thermal blankets in avionics bays, removing protective
          covers, cleaning and inspecting. Final ordnance operations were
          completed yesterday.

               All operations are on scheduled for the call-to-stations for
          picking up the launch countdown at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28.
          Launch of STS-27 is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 1. Liftoff from
          Launch Pad 39-B could occur during a period from 6:32 a.m. to
          9:32 a.m. (EST) that day.

               STS-27 flight crew members are scheduled to arrive at KSC's
          Shuttle Landing Facility tomorrow at about 3:45 p.m. EST. The
          crew will be making final preparations for launch.

               The weather forecast for Thursday's launch includes seven
          miles of visibility and a temperature of 60 degrees. Winds are
          predicted to be 10-18 knots from the east-northeast and there is
          a chance of rainshowers in the area. Clouds will be broken at the
          2,000 ft. and 8,000 ft. levels and overcast at the 25,000 ft.
          level.
