Recently a friend of mine ran across this item and I was wondering if

Can anyone confirm or deny this ? As to acronyms, this is what I have: HST - Hubble Space Telescope LDEF - Long Duration Exposure Facility ( The -1R possibly refers to the fact that it is a recovery mission ?) GRO - Gamma Ray Observatory BBXRT - Broad Band X_RAY Telescope IBSS - Infrared Background Signature Survey TDRS - Tracking and Data Relay Satellite SLS - Spacehab Life Sciences (Source: Dec Issue of SPACEFLIGHT magazine) Does anyone know what CIRRIS stands for ? It must be SDI related work since Teal Ruby is to do with detecting IR signatures of ICBMs. Yet more acronyms ..........aaaaghh ! BTW, the aforementioned magazine list goes up to STS-75 (Sep 9, 1993) for what its worth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "All opinions expressed ...etc ..etc " Swaraj Jeyasingh (sjeyasin@axion.bt.co.uk) (0473 - 646082) British Telecom Research Labs Ipswich IP5 7RE UK

Can anyone confirm or deny this ? Last I heard, the switch was official. One of this year's DoD payloads, presumably but not certainly that of STS-36, is behind schedule. -- Allegedly heard aboard Mir: "A | Henry Spencer at U of Toronto Zoology toast to comrade Van Allen!!" | uunet!attcan!utzoo!henry henry@zoo.toronto.edu
