          KSC SPACE SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT - WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 25, 1989


                        STS-29  -  DISCOVERY (OV 103)  -  VAB

               Technicians finished bolting the orbiter Discovery to the
          external tank and solid rocket boosters at about 5 a.m. today.
          The lifting sling is being removed from the orbiter and platforms
          are being moved into place around the vehicle for access.
          Electrical connections between the tank and orbiter will start
          later today. Connections between the tail service masts on the
          mobile launcher platform and the orbiter are planned today.

               The Shuttle Interface Test will begin once all the
          connections have been completed. Discovery is scheduled to be
          rolled out to Launch Pad 39-B at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31.


                     STS-30  -  ATLANTIS (0V 104)  -  OPF BAY 2

               The right hand orbital maneuvering system pod was delivered
          to the OPF yesterday and preparations to install the pod are
          underway today. Checkout of the pod will commence after the
          installation. Technicians are continuing to reconfigure the
          payload bay and repair the damaged tiles.


                     STS-28  -  COLUMBIA (OV 102)  -  OPF BAY 1

               Preparations to open Columbia's payload bay doors are
          scheduled today and power up testing is planned for tomorrow.


                        STS-30 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS  -  VAB

               Joint closeout operations are continuing today on the left
          booster. The left forward assembly is scheduled to be stacked on
          top of the booster later today. Meanwhile, technicians in the
          RPSF are preparing the right segments for stacking.
