KSC SPACE SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT - THURSDAY, JANUARY 26, 1989

                        STS-29 - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - VAB

Today, workers are connecting the tail service masts to the
orbiter, installing ordnance devices, and making electrical
connections between the orbiter and tank. The Shuttle Interface
Test which verifies the critical connections is scheduled to
          begin tomorrow.

Discovery and the STS-29 stack are scheduled to be rolled
out to pad 39-B at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31. The Tracking and
Data Relay Satellite is scheduled to be installed in Discovery's
payload bay the day after the orbiter arrives at the pad. The
countdown demonstration test is planned for next weekend.

                     STS-30 - ATLANTIS (0V 104) - OPF BAY 2

Technicians are completing the installation of the right
orbital maneuvering system pod today and will begin checkout
shortly afterwards. Checkout of the water spray boilers and the
Ku-band antenna are other activities planned today. Tile repairs
and reconfiguring the payload bay are also continuing.

                     STS-28 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - OPF BAY 1

More time is needed to prepare and configure Columbia for
power up operations. Power up is now planned for no earlier than
          Monday.

                      STS-30 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - VAB/RPSF

The left forward assembly is hanging in the transfer aisle
ready for mating with the left booster stack this afternoon.
Closeouts of the left field joints are underway. Technicians in
the RPSF are preparing the right segments for stacking beginning
          next week.
