(This message is being posted for Brett Hammell of FidoNet node 369/8.) On wed. the 22 one of the cheif engineers of the redesign of the space shuutle spoke in the FAU engineering building. All were welcome but 99.9% of the audience were student engineers. . Perhaps the most important part of the lecture were a few details on the shear effort and things accomplished during the two year redisign (which included every system of the shuttle). . He also stated that very soon NASA will be looking for new/just graduated engineers to fill the multitude of retiring Apollo engineers. . If you are to soon to graduate from high school and want to someday work for NASA the best course is to go to engineering school of course, but to also coop. Meaning that you would work for NASA during several summers. According to the speaker, this almost gurantees a job with the administration. Contact the coop office of your chosen engineering school. -- Richard Kaplan - via FidoNet node 1:135/3 Medical Software Exchange BBS (305) 325-8709 UUCP: ...uunet!gould!umbio!medsoft!rkaplan ARPA: rkaplan@medsoft.uucp
