KSC SPACE SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT - MONDAY, APRIL 10, 1989
STS-30 - ATLANTIS (0V 104) - PAD 39-B
This past weekend, Magellan and Inertial Upper Stage end-to-
end test was successfully completed. The Terminal Countdown
Demonstration Test was conducted Friday with a simulated engine
cutoff at 11 a.m.
Main engine technicians are conducting leak checks of the
three engines to check out the new high pressure oxidizer turbo
pumps. Engine readiness tests are planned for mid-week and heat
shields will be installed around the engines later this week. A
helium signature leak check of the main propulsion system is
planned for early next week.
STS-28 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - OPF BAY 1
Orbiter systems testing is continuing this week including
checkout of the Ku-band antenna, water spray boilers, air
revitalization system and power reactant storage and distribution
system. Installation of the orbiter's radiators are scheduled
this week. Thermal protection system operations are continuing.
Work is underway to prepare the two orbital maneuvering system
pods for installation on the orbiter.
STS-33 DISCOVERY (OV 103) - OPF BAY 2
Technicians successfully offloaded hypergolic propellants
this weekend. Structural post-flight inspections and window
polishing are scheduled this week.
STS-28 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - VAB/RPSF
The left aft center segment was stacked on the left aft
booster over the weekend. The left forward center segment is
scheduled to be transferred to the VAB today and stacked on the
left booster this week. Meanwhile, other segments are being
prepared for stacking in the RPSF.
