KSC SPACE SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT FOR - THURSDAY, MAY 11, 1989

                     STS-28 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - OPF BAY 1

A frequency response test of Columbia's three main engines
is underway today. Technicians installed the left orbital
maneuvering system pod yesterday and interface testing of both
          pods is underway.

Other scheduled work includes functional testing of the
waste containment system, servicing the auxiliary power units
with water and testing the orbiter's communications systems.

Columbia is scheduled to remain in bay 1 until late June
when it will be transferred to the VAB for mating with its
external tank and solid rocket boosters.

                     STS-33 - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - OPF BAY 2

Technicians are preparing Discovery for its roll to the OMRF
today at 1 p.m. Discovery is being transferred to the OMRF to
make room for Atlantis this weekend. Discovery will be
transferred to bay 1 when Columbia goes to the VAB in June.

STS-30 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - HANGAR AF

Workers removed the aft skirts and nose cones yesterday. The
segments were transferred inside Hangar AF where the nozzles and
external tank attach rings are being removed. Today the left aft
booster is scheduled to be removed. Once disassembled, the
segments will be shipped back to Morton Thiokol for refurbishment
          and reloading with propellant.

STS-28 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - VAB

The right forward segment is being lowered into place today
and will be bolted to the right booster today. The right forward
assembly/nose cone is scheduled to be stacked later this week
which will complete the stacking operations for this set of
          boosters. Joint closeouts are active.

STS-34 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - RPSF

Technicians are building up the right and left aft boosters
in the Rotation Processing and Surge Facility.
