Heat shields are scheduled to be removed from around main engine number 1. During the helium signature leak test of the main engines last week, a leak in the engine one high pressure liquid hydrogen turbo pump was revealed. Engineers are troublehooting the problem and are preparing to remove and replace the pump. A spare pump is already on hand and ready for installation. The landing gears are being checked out for flight this week with pressurization of the struts planned today. Technicians are rigging the landing gear doors for a tight fit and smooth closure. Thermal protection system operations are continuing. Columbia's is target date for tow to the Vehicle Assembly Building for mating with its external tank and solid rocket boosters is June 23. STS-30 - ATLANTIS (OV 104) - OPF BAY 2 Technicians completed hypergolic propellant offloading operations this past weekend. Preparations are underway this week to remove the right orbital maneuvering system pod this weekend. The pod will be transferred to the maintenance facility for repairs. Checkouts of the power reactant storage and distribution system are continuing.
