STS-28 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - VAB
Technicians successfully connected the liquid oxygen
electrical interfaces between the shuttle and the external tank.
Final connection operations are in work today to prepare for
powering up the orbiter tomorrow. Tile step and gap measurements
are being taken, gap fillers are being installed in various areas
and tile repairs are underway.
The Shuttle Interface Test is scheduled to begin no earlier
than tomorrow morning. The purpose of the test is to verify all
critical connections between the orbiter and the tank, orbiter
and boosters, orbiter and mobile launcher platform and to perform
a functional operation check of the solid rocket boosters'
systems.
Columbia's rollout is currently targeted for no earlier than
12:01 a.m. Wednesday, July 12.
STS-34 - ATLANTIS (OV 104) - OPF BAY 2
