KSC SPACE SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT - MONDAY, JULY 10, 1989

                        STS-28 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - VAB

Workers verified the integrity of electrical connections
between the external tank and orbiter liquid oxygen umbilical.
During the connection process, technicians reported more movement
than expected on an umbilical plate. The plate is designed to
move, allowing flexibility during ascent. However, managers wanted
to be sure the electrical lines were in place. Connection
operations were completed yesterday, and last night power surged
through the orbiter, boosters and tank connections. In the next
few days, the critical connections between the tank, boosters and
launch platform will be verified during the test. Tile operations
are continuing in parallel with the Shuttle Interface Test.

Columbia's rollout is currently targeted for no earlier than
12:01 a.m. Thursday, July 13. The countdown dress rehearsal test
with the STS-28 flight crew and launch team is scheduled to begin
at 8 a.m. Monday, July 17 and will culminate with a simulated
          engine cutoff at 11 a.m. July 18.

                      STS-34 - ATLANTIS (OV 104) - OPF BAY 2

Last week, technicians installed the three main engines and
testing will begin today. The left orbital maneuvering system
pod was removed and taken to the Hypergolic Maintenance Facility
yesterday for repairs prior to mission STS-34. Operations
continuing today include a functional check of the galley and the
waste containment system and structural inspections, including x-
rays. Activities completed include check out of the forward
reaction control system and a positive pressure structural leak
          test.

                       STS-33 - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - OMRF

Preparations are continuing to ready Discovery for the move
from the OMRF to OPF bay 1 tomorrow after the morning traffic.

                       STS-34 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - VAB/RPSF

Stacking operations are continuing on a non-interference
basis to the STS-28 shuttle mating activities. The left forward
assembly has been mated to the stack and joint closeouts are
active. The right forward center segment will be transferred to
          the VAB tomorrow.
