KSC SPACE SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT - TUESDAY, SEPT. 12, 1989

                       STS-34 - ATLANTIS (OV 104) - PAD 39-B

Pre-launch propellant loading activites are proceeding
today. The oxidizer has been loaded into the orbiter's orbital
maneuvering system and reaction control system storage tanks.
Today, fuel is being loaded aboard the orbiter. In addition,
hydrazine is being loaded into the orbiter's auxiliary power
units and the solid rocket boosters' hydraulic power units. The
launch pad remains closed for the propellant loading operation
and is scheduled to be reopened early tomorrow morning.

The Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test with the STS-34
flight crew remains scheduled for Sept. 14 and 15. Flight crew
members are scheduled to arrive at KSC late tonight to prepare
for the test. The mock countdown is scheduled to begin with a
call-to-stations at 8 a.m. Thursday and will culminate on Friday
with a simulated cutoff at 11 a.m. at the T minus five second
          mark.

                     STS-33 - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - OPF BAY 1

Technicians completed checking connections of the newly
installed left orbital maneuvering system pod. A functional test
of the orbiter's radiators was completed yesterday. Orbiter
systems testing and thermal protection system operations are
          continuing.

                       STS-32 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - OPF BAY 2

Preparations are underway to deservice the freon cooling
loop and to replace filters in the system. Technicians are
preparing to remove the body flap for post-flight inspections and
checkout of the actuators. Thermal protection system operations
          are continuing.

STS-33 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - VAB

The right forward segment is scheduled to be lifted into the
high bay today and prepared for stacking. The right forward
assembly/nose cone is scheduled to be stacked on Friday.
Technicians are closing out the joints on the right and left
boosters for flight. The external tank is scheduled to be mated
          on Sept. 23.
