           KSC SPACE SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT - WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 13, 1989

                       STS-34  -  ATLANTIS (OV 104) - PAD 39-B

               Hypergolic propellants have been loaded aboard the shuttle
          Atlantis and the pad is now reopened for normal work.
          Preparations for the Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test are
          underway today.

               Galileo's onboard science instruments will be tested today
          and the probe will be tested tomorrow.  Both tests are 12 hours
          long.

                STS-34 flight crew members arrived at KSC last night to
          prepare for the test. Today, the flight crew will practive flying
          in the T-38 jets and receive emergency egress training. Later
          today the crew members will practice driving in the M113 tracked
          vehicles at the Shuttle Landing Facility. Commander Don Williams
          and Pilot Mike McCulley will practice flying in the Shuttle
          Training Aircraft  this evening.

               The mock countdown is scheduled to begin with a call-to-
          stations at 8 a.m. Thursday and will culminate on Friday with a
          simulated cutoff at 11 a.m. at the T minus five second mark.

                     STS-33  -  DISCOVERY (OV 103)  -  OPF BAY 1

               Preparations for electrical redundancy tests of the orbital
          maneuvering system and reaction control systems are scheduled
          today.  Orbiter systems testing and thermal protection system
          operations are continuing.

                       STS-32 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - OPF BAY 2

               A test of the radar altimeter and leak and functional
          testing of the main propulsion system are scheduled today.
          Preparations are underway to deservice the freon cooling loop and
          to replace filters in the system. Technicians are preparing to
          remove the body flap for post-flight inspections and checkout of
          the actuators. Removal of the body flap is scheduled for
          tomorrow. Thermal protection system operations are continuing.

                         STS-33 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - VAB

               The right forward segment was lifted last night and is
          currently being prepared for stacking. The right forward
          assembly/nose cone is scheduled to be stacked on Friday.
          Technicians are closing out the joints on the right and left
          boosters for flight. The external tank is scheduled to be mated
          on Sept. 23.
