          KSC SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT  - AS OF 9 A.M. 10/26/89


          DISCOVERY (OV-103), STS-33:

               Thunderstorms in the  KSC  area  again  delayed  rollout  to
          Launch Pad B last night.  Team members will attempt rollout again
          tonight, with call to stations at 9 p.m.,  weather briefing at 10
          p.m.,  and  rollout at 12:01 a.m.  Friday,  l0/27.  Based on this
          schedule,  no impact is seen  to  either  next  week's  Countdown
          Demonstration  Test  with  the  crew,  or to launch.  CDDT T-0 is
          planned for 11 a.m. Monday.  The crew will arrive on Saturday.


          ATLANTIS (OV-104), STS-34 (EAFB)

               Work is progressing well at Edwards Air Force  Base  as  the
          orbiter is readied for its return to KSC atop the Shuttle Carrier
          Aircraft.  Today, team members will close out doors, and complete
          valve  drain  operations.  It  is  anticipated that Atlantis will
          leave EAFB at sunrise Saturday, Oct. 28, and,  with good weather,
          may be able to make the flight back to KSC in one day.

          COLUMBIA (OV-102), STS-32

               Work continues in OPF Bay 2 to prepare Columbia for the LDEF
          retrieval  and  SYNCOM-IV  deployment  launch  Dec.  18.  Orbital
          maneuvering and reaction control systems are  undergoing  routine
          testing. Heat shield installation around main engines is in work.

          SRB STACKING, STS-32

               VAB  work  completed  includes  closeouts  of the right aft,
          right center,  and right forward joints.  Other closeout work  is
          continuing.

          SRB BUILDUPS, STS-36

               In  the  RPSF,  both the left and right aft booster buildups
          are in work.
