STATEMENT FROM STS-33 LAUNCH READINESS REVIEW

  NOVEMBER 2, 1989

"After a careful review of all Kennedy Space Center elements
including shuttle processing and engineering, ground and facility
systems, safety reliability and quality assurance and range sup-
port, we have determined the center is ready for the safe and
successful launch of STS-33. We have two more weeks of work to
ready the vehicle for launch. Everthing is looking good for the
fifth shuttle launch this year," said Jay Honeycutt, Director
  Shuttle Management and Operations.
