KSC SPACE SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT - WEDNESDAY, NOV. 15, 1989

                     STS-33 - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - PAD 39-B

Engineers are disconnecting the two aft integrated
electronics assemblies (IEAs) from the left and right solid
rocket boosters today. The IEAs act as the brain for the booster
by routing power, commands and data between the orbiter and
boosters. It was discovered during routine tests of another unit
that wiring in these units could potentially have been routed
such that a short could occur. Later today, the assemblies will
be transferred to the USBI facility for inspections.

Yesterday, workers removed ablative material from the IEAs
and have disconnected ordnance devices on the vehicle. Today,
workers will retorque a leaking valve for one of the hydraulic
power units on the right solid rocket booster.

Launch of mission STS-33 is targeted for no earlier than
Wednesday, Nov. 22. The four-hour launch period opens at 6:30
          p.m. EST.

                     STS-36 - ATLANTIS (0V 104) - OPF BAY 1

Deservicing of residual hypergolic propellants is planned
this week. Checks of the main propulsion system and
communications system are scheduled this week.

                     STS-32 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - OPF BAY 2

Closeouts of the vehicle for the move to the Vehicle
Assembly Building are underway. A functional test of the external
tank doors was completed yesterday. Today, the orbiter's weight
and center of gravity will be determined.

The orbiter transporter is outside the high bay.
Transfer of Columbia from the OPF to the Vehicle Assembly
Building is targeted for tomorrow afternoon.

                 STS-32 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS/EXTERNAL TANK - VAB

Two of the IEAs were removed and preliminary inspections
indicate these units are in good shape. These units will not be
reinstalled until the STS-33 units have been cleared for flight.

STS-36 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - VAB

The left forward center was transferred back to the storage
facility to make room for Columbia in the VAB transfer aisle. The
segment is scheduled to be moved back to the VAB early Friday.
The right aft booster is being built up in the Rotation
          Processing and Surge Facility.
