KSC SPACE SHUTTLE PROCESSING REPORT - FRIDAY, NOV. 17, 1989

                     STS-33 - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - PAD 39-B

Retest of the integrated electronics assemblies (IEAs) is
underway today and is scheduled to be completed today. A "hot
fire" of the right solid rocket booster hydraulic power units is
planned for tonight. The two units will be run for about 20-30
seconds. This activity is required because of the new IEA on the
          right booster.

Final ordnance operations are scheduled to begin at midnight
tonight. Pyrotechnic devices will be electrically connected and
resistance checks of the circuits will be performed on the ground
support system and the shuttle vehicle.

In addition, launch countdown preparations and closeouts of
the aft compartment are underway. In the aft compartment, final
inspections are continuing and last minute items are being
installed for flight. The flight doors are scheduled to be
          installed for flight tomorrow evening.

The countdown is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EST Sunday,
Nov. 19. The five-member flight crew will be arriving at the time
the countdown begins. Launch of mission STS-33 is targeted for no
earlier than Wednesday, Nov. 22. The four-hour launch period
          opens at 6:30 p.m. EST.

                        STS-32 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - VAB

Columbia was towed to the VAB last night atop the orbiter
transporter at about 11:15 p.m. Columbia is currently in the
transfer aisle. There are a few thermal protection system gap
fillers in cure and the exact time for hoisting the vehicle to
the vertical position is being determined. This weekend, Columbia
will be carefully lowered into position and bolted to the
          external tank.

                     STS-36 - ATLANTIS (0V 104) - OPF BAY 1

Deservicing of residual hypergolic propellants is underway
today and will continue through tomorrow. Checks of the main
propulsion system and communications system are scheduled this
week. Preparations are underway to remove the right orbital
          maneuvering system pod this weekend.

STS-36 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - VAB

The left forward center segment is scheduled to be moved to
the VAB after the orbiter is in the high bay. The right aft
booster is being built up in the Rotation Processing and Surge
          Facility.
