KSC SHUTTLE STATUS REPORT - WEDNESDAY, DEC. 6, 1989

                       STS- 32 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - PAD 39-A

The main engine flight readiness test was completed early
this morning. Today the orbiter's aerosurfaces are being cycled
and closeouts of the aft compartment are underway.

Yesterday, the payload bay doors were closed for flight.
Preparations are underway to conduct flow checks of the reaction
control system regulators tomorrow. Two contingency
extravehicular mobility units will be installed and checked out
          in Columbia's airlock on Friday.

At Pad A, workers are cycling the pumps at the liquid oxygen
farm, and validating the gaseous oxygen vent arm.

Launch of Mission STS-32 is targeted for Dec. 18 at 7:29
p.m. EST. The launch countdown will begin at 4 p.m. Dec. 15 at
the T minus 43 hour mark.

                       STS-36 - ATLANTIS (OV 104) - OPF BAY 1

The external tank doors were cycled yesterday. Operations
scheduled this week include leak and functional checks of the
water spray boilers, servicing of the ammonia boilers, a
functional test of the forward reaction control system and
servicing the orbiter with potable water. A leaking thruster on
the left orbital maneuvering system pod will be replaced in the
next few days. Installation of the right orbital maneuvering
system pod and the three main engines is planned for next week.

                      STS-33 - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - OPF BAY 2

The orbiter has been jacked and leveled and workers have
gained access to the crew compartment. Preparations are underway
to power up the vehicle tomorrow, open the payload bay doors and
          remove the protective tail cone.

STS-36 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - VAB

Stacking operations are continuing. The right forward center
segment is scheduled to be stacked this week. The left forward
segment was transferred to the VAB last night and preparations to
          stack are in work.
