KSC SHUTTLE STATUS REPORT - MONDAY, DEC. 18, 1989

                        STS-32 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - PAD 39-A

This weekend, ordnance devices were installed on the vehicle
and the power reactant storage and distribution system dewars at
the pad were loaded with liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen
          propellants.

Today, work continues to validate systems at Pad 39-A to be
used in loading liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen propellants
into the orbiter's onboard storage tanks. One of the major pieces
of equipment being validated is the Orbiter Midbody Umbilical
Unit (OMBUU) at the Pad used to service the orbiter with
          propellants during the launch countdown.

Closeouts of the aft compartment, external tank intertank
and solid rocket booster integrated electronic assemblies are
underway. The launch date for mission STS-32 is being evaluated.

                       STS-36 - ATLANTIS (OV 104) - OPF BAY 1

Testing of the right orbital maneuvering system pod has been
completed to date. A crew equipment interface test was conducted.
Installation of the three main engines was performed. This week,
interface verifcation tests of the main engines are planned.

                      STS-33 - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - OPF BAY 2

Power up post-flight systems testing and inspections are
          scheduled this week.

STS-36 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - VAB

Joint closeouts of the right center and forward field joints
are underway. Booster stacking operations were completed last
week and measurements of the alignment were completed.

STS-31 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS - VAB

Stacking operations are starting with the left aft booster
          in the VAB today.
