  LAUNCH ADVISORY:  STS-36 SET FOR FEBRUARY 22, 1990


  Following today's launch-minus-two day readiness review at NASA's
  Kennedy Space Center, Florida, Space Shuttle managers continue to
  target the launch of Atlantis,  mission STS-36,  for early in the
  morning of February 22, 1990.

  The launch period on the 22nd extends from 12:00 a. m. to
  4:00 a. m., EST.

  Crew  members  for  this classified Department of Defense mission
  are Navy Capt. John O. Creighton, Commander; Air Force Col.  John
  H.  Casper,  Pilot; and three Mission Specialists:  David C. Hil-
  mers, Lt. Col., USMC; Richard M. Mullane, Col., USAF;  and Pierre
  J. Thuot, Lt. Cdr., USN.

  Launch  preparations  at  Pad  39-A continue to proceed smoothly.
  Current weather forecasts for the four-hour launch  period  indi-
  cate a 30% probability of favorable conditions.
