[sci.space.shuttle] 9 year anniversary

richard@eel.cs.ucla.edu (Richard A. Balser) (04/12/90)

Nine years ago today, Columbia lifted off on the first space shuttle
mission, from Kennedy Space Center, Launch pad 39-A; Sunday, April 12, 1981,
at exactly 7 AM Eastern time. The crew aboard was John Young and
Robert Crippen. The program has certainly come a long way, as we are now
on the verge of launching the Hubble Space telescope in the coming weeks....

	YAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
