Yup, I goofed, wrong units. That'll learn me. Max q is about 720 pounds
per quare foot, not psi. My reference is page 20, Vol1 of the Commission
Report. BTW, there are some awesome numbers in this book alone for torques
and stresses on the SRB's and engines, not to mention the photographs, memos
and other goodies on the Challenger accident. It makes for sometimes scary
reading though.
