KSC Space Shuttle Processing Status Report

          -----------------------------------------------------------------

                     STS-35 -- Columbia (OV 102) - OPF Bay 2

Rollover of the orbiter Columbia from the Orbiter Processing
Facility to the Vehicle Assembly Building remains targeted for
early Thursday morning. Final seal installation on the 17-inch
umbilicals should be completed by mid-day today. The orbiter
transporter is scheduled to be positioned under the orbiter late
this afternoon, followed by jack and level operations. Managers
yesterday decided additional tests on the external tank 17-inch
disconnect were not needed, thereby clearing the way for orbiter
rollover. In the VAB, the orbiter will be mated to the external
tank and prepared for rollout to pad A mid-next week.

                  STS-38 -- Atlantis (OV 104) - Launch Pad 39-A

Post-tanking operations were placed on hold late yesterday
at Pad A as technicians began hypergolic deservicing of the
OMS/RCS system at midnight last night. Hypergolic deservicing is
expected to take approximately 24 hours to complete. Following
this work, mapping work of the liquid hydrogen lines will begin
again. Engineers will also continue their preparations to remove
APU number three. Removal of the auxiliary power unit is
          scheduled for Thursday.

Rollback of Atlantis to the Vehicle Assembly Building is
based on Columbia's readiness for rollout to pad A. Rollback is
currently targeted for Wednesday August 8.

                     STS-41 -- Discovery (OV 103) - OPF Bay 1

Work is complete on the left hand OMS pod thermal barrier
and the pod is back in position on the orbiter. The OMS/RCS
redundant electrical circuit verification tests were conducted
successfully yesterday and the payload bay doors have been closed
for thermal tile work. Preparations for the installation of
auxiliary power unit number two is underway. Installation is
          scheduled for this weekend.

                         STS-41 -- ET/SRB - VAB High Bay 1

Lifting of the external tank for mating with the solid
rocket boosters is currently underway. The ET should be soft
          mated by 3:00 this afternoon.
