SPACE SHUTTLE STATUS BRIEFING SCHEDULED FOR SEPT. 26TH


     A press conference on the status of the leak investigation 
of Space Shuttle Columbia will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 1990, 
in the NASA Headquarters 6th floor auditorium, 400 Maryland Ave., 
S.W., Washington, D.C., beginning at 2 p.m. EDT.

     Participants in the briefing will be Dr. William Lenoir, 
Associate Administrator for Space Flight and Robert Crippen, 
Space Shuttle Director.

     The briefing will be carried live on NASA Select television, 
Satcom F-2R, Transponder 13, located at 72 degrees west 
longitude, frequency 3960.0 MHz, audio 6.8 MHz.
