                 KSC SHUTTLE STATUS REPORT - THURSDAY, FEB. 7, 1991

                     STS-39/DoD - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - OPF BAY 1
                                 LAUNCH - MARCH 1991

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          - Troubleshooting of the heater for one of the thrusters (R3A) on
          the right orbital  maneuvering  system  pod.  The  heater  failed
          retests.
          -  Positive  pressure  structural  leak test of the orbiter's aft
          compartment.
          - Vehicle closeouts in preparation for transfer to the VAB.

          WORK COMPLETED:
          - Positive pressure structural leak test of the orbital maneuver-
          ing system pods.
          - Closeouts of the elevon flipper doors.
          - Air Force Program 675 payload arrived at Pad  A  at  3:35  a.m.
          today.

          WORK SCHEDULED:
          - Weight and center of gravity checks.
          - Rollover to the Vehicle Assembly Building targeted for Feb. 9.

            STS-37/GAMMA RAY OBSERVATORY - ATLANTIS (OV 104) - OPF BAY 2
                                 LAUNCH - APRIL 1991

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          - Water spray boiler leak and functional tests.
          - Main engine hot gas system leak tests.
          - Auxiliary power unit leak and functional tests.
          - Main engine 2 flight readiness test.
          - Functional tests of the forward reaction control system.
          - Preparations for the functional test of the landing gear.

          WORK COMPLETED:
          - Installation of heat shields around main engines 1 and 3.

          WORK SCHEDULED:
          - Tests of the right orbital maneuvering system pod.
          - Ammonia boiler servicing rescheduled for tonight.
          - Crew Equipment Interface Test this weekend.

           STS-40/SPACELAB LIFE SCIENCES 1 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - VAB HB 2
                                    LAUNCH - MAY

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          - Closeouts of the orbiter.

          WORK SCHEDULED:
          - Transfer to the Orbiter Processing Facility several hours after
          Discovery's move to the VAB.


                  STS-37 SOLID ROCKET BOOSTERS/EXTERNAL TANK - VAB

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          - Closeouts of the liquid hydrogen umbilical.


                             STS-39 BOOSTERS/TANK - VAB

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          - Preparations to mate the orbiter Discovery Saturday.
          - Final walkdown for mate.

          WORK SCHEDULED:
          - Retraction of platforms away from the vehicle elements.
          - Mating the orbiter Saturday.
