           KSC SHUTTLE STATUS REPORT - TUESDAY, FEB. 12, 1991 - 9:30 a.m.
                        STS-39/DoD - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - VAB
                                 LAUNCH - MARCH 1991
          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          - Electrical connections between the orbiter and external tank.
          - Preparations to power up the orbiter today.
          - Start of the Shuttle Interface  Test  which  verifies  critical
          connections between the vehicle elements and the launch platform.
          - Installation of platforms in the aft compartment.
          WORK SCHEDULED:
          -  Troubleshooting  cable harness between the orbital maneuvering
          system thrusters and the logic control assembly.
          - Rollout to Launch Pad 39-A targeted for Friday at 12:01 a.m.
            STS-37/GAMMA RAY OBSERVATORY - ATLANTIS (OV 104) - OPF BAY 2
                                 LAUNCH - APRIL 1991
          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          - Electrical connections of the left orbital  maneuvering  system
          pod.
          - Tests of the right orbital maneuvering system pod today.
          - Tests of the main propulsion system.
          -  Inspections  of  a  connector  for controller B on water spray
          boiler no. 2.
          - Installation of heat shields around main engine no. 2.
          WORK SCHEDULED:
          - Interface verification tests of the  left  orbital  maneuvering
          system pod.
          - Tire pressure checks.
           STS-40/SPACELAB LIFE SCIENCES 1 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - OPF BAY 1
                                    LAUNCH - MAY
          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          - Access to various parts of the orbiter is being established.
          - Preparations to open the payload bay doors.
          - Preparations to install flight tires.
          - Initial power up preparations.
          WORK COMPLETED:
          - Roll-around tires have been removed.
          WORK SCHEDULED:
          - Removal of the Astro payload this week.
