The "dial-up" service referred to in Article # 2335 is NASA SpaceLink,
which is a free (connect time is free/long-distance charges, if any,
still apply) service aimed at educators. It is based at the Marshall
Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL, and contains all of the items
forwarded by Peter Yee, and then some.

The data number is (205) 895-0028. It runs 24 hours a day on 300/1200/
2400 baud with 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity. To my knowledge there
is no telnet or internet connection to this service.
