             STS-37/GAMMA RAY OBSERVATORY - ATLANTIS (OV 104) - PAD 39-B
                     LAUNCH  --  APRIL 5, 1991 at 9:18 a.m. EST

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          *  Aft engine compartment closeouts
          *  PRSD reactant purge operations
          *  Gamma Ray Observatory battery conditioning
          *  Main engine heat exchanger inspections
          *  SRB closeouts

          WORK COMPLETED:
          *  Flight Readiness Review concluded yesterday with announcement
               of April 5, 1991 as the launch date for mission STS-37
          *  Extravehicular Mobility Unit installation
          *  Mass Memory Unit load
          *  APU number 3 lube oil service
          *  Liquid hydrogen tank pressurization test

          WORK SCHEDULED:
          *  Hypergolic pressurization and final ordnance operations Friday
          *  External tank purges this weekend

                STS-39/DoD  -  DISCOVERY (OV 103)  -  VAB High Bay 1
                          LAUNCH  --  LATE APRIL, EARLY MAY

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          *  Orbiter power up operations
          *  Shuttle interface verification tests

          WORK COMPLETED:
          *  Orbiter to external tank mate operations in high bay 1
          *  Liquid oxygen electrical closeouts
          *  Crew hatch functional tests

          WORK SCHEDULED:
          *  Rollout to pad 39-A set for Monday 4:00 a.m.

           STS-40/SPACELAB LIFE SCIENCES 1 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - OPF BAY 1
                                   LAUNCH  -  MAY

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          *  ET door housing installation
          *  OMS pods and FRCS checkouts
          *  Electrical connections between payload and orbiter
          *  Solid rocket booster stacking operations in VAB HB 3
          WORK COMPLETED:
          *  APU lube oil and water servicing
          *  Antenna installation
          WORK SCHEDULED:
          *  SLS-1 payload interface verification tests tonight
          *  SLS-1 access tunnel adapter installation tomorrow
