Could someone be so kind as to send me some scientific information on the effect of shuttle launches on the ozone layer? My son, whose mom works for NASA, usually wears his shuttle tee shirt with great pride. But last week a bunch of his environmentalist teachers gave him a lecture on how the shuttle was "destroying the ozone layer" and how he should tell mom to switch to liquid rocket fuel. One even sent home a letter to Barbara Bush, stating that the shuttle destroys 5% of the ozone layer on every launch. If someone could be kind enough to send me some facts about this situation, you could help make my son feel a whole lot better. I don't want to discuss the matter with the teachers untill I know at least a little of what I'm talking about. Thanks--Jon Cohen
