                                 LAUNCH -- LATE JULY

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          *  Preparations for rollout to Pad 39-A scheduled for 12:01 a.m.
          Tuesday
          *  Retract platforms
          *  Pad 39-A preparations for receiving shuttle vehicle
          *  Final TDRS payload fuel servicing at pad

          WORK COMPLETED:
          *  Orbiter/external tank electrical connections
          *  SRB joint heater inspections
          *  Vehicle power up operations

          WORK SCHEDULED:
          *  8:00 p.m. Call to Stations for rollout
          *  Rollout to Pad 39-A


                  STS-48/UARS  --  DISCOVERY (OV 103)  -  OPF BAY 1
                              LAUNCH SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          *  Bulb seal repair work
          *  Payload bay reconfiguration
          *  Helium tank leak checks
          *  Radiator inspections
          *  Robot arm tests
          *  Auxiliary Power Unit leak and functional tests

          WORK COMPLETED:
          *  Ammonia boiler servicing
          *  On board fuel cell system tests
          *  OMS system functional checks
          *  Flight control inspections
          *  Nose wheel steering checkouts

          WORK SCHEDULED:
          *  Payload bay door functional tests

                 STS-49  --  ENDEAVOUR (0V 105)  --  VAB High Bay 2

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          *  17 inch disconnect checks
          *  Aft compartment cleaning
          *  Thermal Protection System work
          *  Ammonia boiler installation checks
          *  External tank door housing mechanical checks


                 STS-40/SLS-1  --  COLUMBIA (OV 102)  --  OPF Bay 2

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          *  Preps for tailcone removal
          *  Work platform configuration

          WORK COMPLETED:
          *  Arrived at KSC's Shuttle Landing Facility at 8:59 a.m. last
          Friday.
          *  Demated from Shuttle Carrier Aircraft and towed to OPF early
          Saturday morning
          *  Jack and level operations
          *  Payload bay door strongback installation
          *  Post mission propellant deservicing

          WORK SCHEDULED:
          *  Vehicle power up
          *  Open payload bay doors
          *  Inspections of payload bay door bulb seal
          *  Remove from payload bay the Spacelab Life Sciences module
