            KSC SHUTTLE STATUS REPORT FOR THURSDAY, JUNE 27, 1991 - 10 AM


                    STS-43/TDRS-E - ATLANTIS (OV 104) -  PAD 39-A

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          - Preparations for helium signature leak test.
          - Making connections between the launch pad and the vehicle.
          - Connections of forward  reaction  control  system  and  orbital
          maneuvering  system  quick  disconnects in preparation for hyper-
          golic servicing operations.
          - Calibrations of the inertial measurement units.
          - Closeouts of the solid rocket boosters.

          WORK COMPLETED:
          - Installation of the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite into  At-
          lantis' payload bay.
          - Leak checks of the liquid oxygen system.

          WORK SCHEDULED:
          -  Helium  signature  leak test of the main propulsion system and
          three main engines Friday.
          - Payload to orbiter interface verification tests Saturday.
          - Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test July 2-3.
          - Flight Readiness Review July 11-12.

                    STS-48/UARS - DISCOVERY (OV 103) - OPF BAY 1

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          - Leak checks of the gaseous oxygen flow control valves.
          - Servicing of the potable water.
          - Repair of the payload bay bulb seal.
          - Leak and functional tests of the auxiliary power units.
          - Thermal protection system operations.

          WORK COMPLETED:
          - Verification  of  the  orbital  maneuvering  system  electrical
          redundancy capability.
          - Installation of the gaseous oxygen flow control valves.

          WORK SCHEDULED:
          -  Installation  of  the  three  Shuttle  main engines Friday and
          Saturday.


                    STS-40/SLS-1 - COLUMBIA (OV 102) - OPF BAY 2

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          - Removal of the Spacelab Life Sciences module.
          - Payload bay door bulb seal inspections.
          - Removal of ferry flight kit hardware.
          - Installation of platforms for access to various  parts  of  the
          vehicle.
          - Preparations to drain residuals from the auxiliary power units.

          WORK COMPLETED:
          - Opening of the payload bay doors.



               STS-49/INTELSAT RESCUE - ENDEAVOUR (OV 105) - VAB HB 2

          WORK IN PROGRESS:
          - Leak checks of the main propulsion system.
          - Brazing water lines into the environmental control life support
          system.
          - Mounting the external tank umbilical door drive mechanism.
          - Installation of ammonia boiler tubes.
